Weight-Shifting Mobiles: One-Dimensional Gravitational Displays in Mobile Phones

چکیده
In this paper, we present a novel actuation system for mobile phones: An actuated center of gravity. We present a number of applications, including interactive feedback, notification and the usage of the system as an ambient display. We present the results of an initial user study, in which the users were asked to estimate the position of the device’s center of gravity. The results indicated that weight-shift is suitable to support mobile interactions. ACM Classification: H5.2 [Information interfaces and presentation]: User Interfaces. – Haptic I/O. A Gravitational Search Algorithm-Based Single-Center of Mass Flocking Control for Tracking Single and Multiple Dynamic Targets for Parabolic Trajectories in Mobile Sensor Networks
Developing optimal flocking control procedure is an essential problem in mobile sensor networks (MSNs). Furthermore, finding the parameters such that the sensors can reach to the target in an appropriate time is an important issue. This paper offers an optimization approach based on metaheuristic methods for flocking control in MSNs to follow a target. We develop a non-differentiable optimizati...

Background: Infertility is defined as inability to conceive after a year of sexual intercourses without the use of contraceptives. In half of the cases the causative factor is the male. Males are exposed to the effect of various environmental factors, which may decrease their reproductive capabilities. Phone electromagnetic power is very small, only a few hundredths of a microwave oven, but bec...

The paper explains how the people's behavior has developed a whole new social code in Iran. It is argued that the social value of being able...
متن کاملPervasive Versus Productive: The Case of Mobile Phones in Developing Economies
With statistics pointing to nearly 100% adoption of mobile phones in developed countries and nearly 50% adoption worldwide, mobile phones have become a pervasive portion of our information and communications infrastructure. In many developing countries, mobiles are becoming an important platform for delivering information services. Yet in spite of its rapid adoption, does this mean that cell ph...
متن کاملModControl - Mobile Phones as a Versatile Interaction Device for Large Screen Applications
Large, public displays are increasingly popular in today’s society. For the most part, however, these displays are purely used for information or multimedia presentation, without the possibility of interaction for viewers. On the other hand, personal mobile devices are becoming more and more ubiquitous. Though there are efforts to combine large screens with mobile devices, the approaches are mo...
